The Palmer Public
Library Reference Department maintains a varied and timely collection
of reference materials. You will find both print and electronic resources
relating to biographies, business, consumer information, the law,
literature, medicine, world history and local
history. Librarians are available to assist you with locating
specific books, subject research, retrieving material outside of our
collection and using the on-line catalog. Labeled reference materials
are non-circulating but are available during open hours.

ELECTRONIC
QUESTIONS |

E-questions are
designed to provide brief answers to factual questions. Inquiries
can be e-mailed to Amy Golenski and a response will be given within three business days.
Reference assistance is also available by telephone (413)-283-3330,
ext. 109 or stop by the Palmer Public Library's reference department
for further assistance.
Please
observe the following guidelines when asking an electronic question:
1. Be as
specific and complete as possible.
2. Include
name, town of residence, your e-mail address and or telephone. Requests
from Palmer and surrounding area towns will be given priority.
3. Extensive
or time-consuming research and bibliographies cannot be undertaken.

INTERNET
ACCESS AND PUBLIC COMPUTERS |

You do not need
to sign on to use a Library Catalog computer (for finding books, videos,
magazines etc.)
There are 46 public
access Internet terminals offering Microsoft Office. Please read our
Internet Access Policy for more information.
Sign in with a login that you can remember (such as your name) in order to retrieve your print requests.
Wi-fi is available. Choose the Palmer Library Hotspot then refresh your browser. You are required to accept the CWMARS wi-fi policy before you will be ablt to successfuly use the wi-fi connection.

PERIODICALS
AND NEWSPAPERS |
|
|
Current issues
of periodicals and newspapers are available in the Periodical Reading
Area. Young Adult and Childrens' periodicals are kept in their respective
areas. In most cases, the library retains issues for the current year
only. Back issues of The Journal-Register (Palmer-Monson's local weekly
newspaper) are kept on microfilm from 1846 in the Railroad Research
Room.

PHOTOCOPYING AND PRINTING |
|
|
One public color
copier is available. It is located near the circulation desk.
Black & white copies/printouts are $.20 cents each.
Color copies/printouts are $.50 cents each.
